Glee star Mark Salling has been arrested and released on bail on suspicion of posessing child pornography…

It is believed an ex-girlfriend tipped off the police, who raided his LA home.

After the LAPD’s internet Crimes Against Children Task Force unit obtained a search warrant at his Sunland, California home, they discovered the actor had over a thousand indecent images on his laptop.

Possession of up to 600 images can seem for someone to be sentenced to five years in prison.

Salling is now released on $20,000 bail. According to The Hollywood Reporter, his court date is set for the 22nd January.

Crime Watch Daily first reported the allegations, and claimed that police used battering rams to get inside the LA home, as the Glee star would not let them in.

As well as his computer, other electronic devices were seized.

Police got the tip off from an ex girlfriend. It’s believed the apartment is under the name and belongs to Jonathan Hernandez, who has been Salling’s roommate since 2011.

Salling rose to fame after starring as Puck in Glee from Season One to Five.

UPDATES:

Mark Salling could be cut from his comeback film, Gods and Secrets, if he is convicted of the child pornography charges.

Adi Shankar, director of Gods and Secrets, had this to say:

Today I was made aware of the serious allegations against Salling as a result of numerous media outlets hounding me as to whether he would remain in Gods and Secrets. I won’t feed our growing pitchfork culture. I’m going to wait for all the facts to arrive and if in fact these allegations are true, I will immediately take action, which includes removing his scenes from the project.
