A crane has collapsed in New York, with one man confirmed to be dead and fifteen injured…
The crane collapsed in Manhattan, although the reason for the collapsing has yet to be identified.
The New York City Fire Department received the call just after 8am.
The collapse happened 40 Worth Street in Tribeca, between West Broadway and Church street.
The collapse has been well documented on Twitter by people who were on location.
The crane is said to have been stood 15 to 18 stories high.
A man called Sean Campbell, who was at the scene, told WABC news:
I could see it slowly coming down. It lasted about five or six seconds. I didn’t know what was happening it was happening so fast.
