This cute little cat has found himself working, after a joke at a museum went a little bit too far…
Staff at the Serpukhov Museum of History and Art in Russia sent out a fake job application form from a cat who has spent his time outside the museum for over a year, greeting guests as they walk in.
The application came from Maray, the cat.
His application read: ‘As I am a direct relative of Maraeva [the museum’s ex-owner, who Maray had been named after], I ask you to give me a job in your museum. Maray The Cat.’ It was then signed with a paw print.
But when the press took it seriously and began asking the museum about their new employee, the staff realised they needed to do something.
So they hired the cat.
Now, he works 9-5 every day, with a break for lunch and a walk outside whenever he wants. He now has a location at the museum that he calls his office, and he has a small tent where he can sleep.
Nina Strelkova, an employee at the museum, said:
All people who work in our museum love Maray. Many bring him food from home and take pictures with him. So he gets a little fat now. And visitors love the cat too — lots of them taking selfies with him.
